The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently traveling to the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render companies into the community.
SASSA might be rendering companies including new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer treatment enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency explained it really is alarmed with regards to the large number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a substantial number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is often as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office focused on service the area daily. The service stage developed for intervention activities a significant inflow of opportunity SRD beneficiaries, that makes it complicated with the Workplace to attend to all people who stop by a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more resources to enable the servicing of all customers and increase usage of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
